This is a departure from her previous sound. Not a radical departure, but it is not nearly as jazz-based as her previous albums. And if your interests are limited to vocal jazz, then this is not the album for you. But if what you want is a fantastic voice, thoughtful lyrics, and skilled arrangement, then you'll love this album. People deride "pop" music, and with good justification. But this is not American Idol music--this is what you get when you bring real talent to popular sound. If Norah Jones were the rule and not the exception, I'd be an unabashed pop fan.
